Aldingbourne’s Forest School provides a child-centered, inclusive learning experience, fostering confidence, creativity, and a connection with nature through play and hands-on activities in ancient woodland.
Forest School is a process that is inclusive of all learners, offering vast opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, self-esteem and a connection with nature. Learners will be encouraged to take risks, work collaboratively, explore, play and develop a variety of skills. The long term principle encourages learners to develop environmentally conscious behaviour, by fostering an appreciation of the natural world.
A typical forest school session might include: campfire cooking, games, nature crafts, den building, nature stories, play and exploring the woodland area.
Aldingbourne's forest school site is located in an area of ancient woodland, offering learners the opportunity to explore its rich biodiversity. Sessions are tailored to the needs and interests of the group, promoting their holistic development and supporting them in a child centred way.
